Robert Lee Ellis

Robert Lee Ellis passed away on November 15, 2014 at the George Wahlen Veterans Home.  Bob was born on August 1, 1926 in Superior, Wyoming.  His family moved to Ogden in 1942.  He graduated from Ogden High School in 1944.  After graduating, he served in the Air Force in Nagoya, Japan during the post war occupation.

Bob graduated from BYU in 1950 with a degree in accounting.  He later qualified as a CPA.

He married Arlene West on April 5, 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Bob worked in accounting at Hill Air Force Base and Thiokol. He then worked in management at the US Treasury Department.  He returned to accounting working for Davis County until his final retirement at age 75.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many positions.  His favorites were Elder Quorum President and Weber Heights Stake Executive Secretary.

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Arlene; daughter, Karen of Park City and son, Mark of Salt Lake City.

The family thanks Comfort Keepers, especially Sara, Megan, and Lynda, and the staff at George Wahlen Veterans Home for making his final year comfortable.

The family will hold a private graveside service at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.   Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
