Robert "Bob" Henry Friese, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 17, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born on March 30, 1939, in Ogden, Utah to Robert "Burt" George Friese and Harmina "Minnie" Alberts.
Bob was born and raised in Ogden, Utah, Bob graduated from Ogden High School before entering the US Marine Corps. He later trained in dental arts school and ran his own dental lab for a number of years. He also worked at Hill AFB, where he enjoyed time with friends in the parachute and machine shops. He was fortunate enough to work alongside his son Scott for a few years before he retired.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Kay Fischer, and though they later divorced, they remained connected through their shared love for their children Debbie and Scott.
He later married Tami Fitzsimmons, and though they also divorced, they remained close as they raised their children together, twins Sarah and Jennifer.
Bob found great joy in being a father and grandfather, always supporting his family, especially his grandchildren. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren, and had special bonds with his great grandchildren.
A passionate motorcyclist, Bob was a proud member of the Beehive Beamers BMW Motorcycle Club. He loved the freedom of the open road and the camaraderie of fellow riders. He had many friends from the club and so many great adventures and memories riding with them. He also enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, while creating cherished memories in the great outdoors with family and friends.
Bob leaves behind his four children, Debbie (Dave) East, Scott Friese, Sarah (Veronica) Friese, and Jennifer (Josh) Leatherow, as well as one brother, David (Joan) Friese. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, son-in-law, and one grandson.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the care staff at Stonehenge of Ogden and the medical staff at Ogden Regional Medical Center for their compassionate care of Bob during his last days.
Bob's legacy of love, friendship, and adventure will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heigh Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
