Our hero, Robert Leland Brown, II left this earth to join his sweetheart in Heaven on Monday, August 8, 2011.
He was born March 11, 1927 in Long Beach, California to Robert Leland and Alice Wilson Brown.
Dad was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1942. While in Germany he found his sweetheart, Margarete and they were married in 1948. Dad decided to make a career with the Army and earned the title "One of America''s Best". He was a Green Beret and wore that title for the rest of his life with great pride. The family moved all over the country and finally settled in Utah in 1968. Dad was very proud to serve his country and served in three wars. He told many stories that all of the children and grandchildren loved to hear. After retirement, Dad worked several jobs and was qualified for many.
Dad and Mom were inseparable and enjoyed their time camping, fishing, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. They looked forward to their daily outings as well as their trips to Wendover and Idaho.
Robert is survived by Pam (Rick) Wood, Afton, WY; Peggy (Jim) Sorensen, Pleasant View; Randy (Shastta) Brown, Myton, UT; Sandra (Mike) Wilde, Roy; 24 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife and several family members.
We as a family would like to thank the V.A. Hospital and Harmony Home Care, especially Dad''s nurse, Tara, she was always there for us, also our Jared he was his granddad''s rock.
Rest in peace Dad and Mom, we know we will be together as a family again.
