Robert Gustave Iverson
KAYSVILLE - Robert Iverson of Kaysville, Utah passed away Sunday February 22, 2009 from cancer.
Robert was born in Missoula Montana, November 3, 1933 the son of Clarence M. and Darlene W. Iverson.
He moved to Utah at the age of 8 years old, living in Layton and then settling in Kaysville.
He attended Kaysville Elementary, North Davis Jr. High and graduated from Davis High School. He was involved in sports, baseball, football and basketball. He attended University of Utah and Utah State University majoring in Engineering.
He married Barbara Flint on February 26, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have four children, David (Jena) Iverson of Pocatello; Julie Layton, Kaysville; Kaye Lininger, Layton; and Bradley Iverson (Shu Mei), Wu Chi, Taiwan. They have 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Bob was a builder, he loved doing things with his hands, he owned his own Construction Co. and built many commercial building. His expertise was remodeling old buildings. He remodeled the First National Bank of Layton, Park City Library, Park City Hall and the Eccles building in Ogden, as well as new construction.
He loved the outdoors. He had a cabin in Island Park for many years, where he loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family and friends.
Our father was active in church activities, serving in many callings throughout his life and having a strong testimony gave kindness and service to others.
He is survived by his wife, four children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Faye I. Purdy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville LDS Tabernacle, 198 West Center Street. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
