Robert E. "Bob" James, 83, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Ogden Regional Hospital.

He was born April 17, 1927, in Hannibal, Missouri to Erie and Eula Smith James. He was raised and educated in Missouri.

Bob lived in California, where he worked in banking. He then moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where he lived until September of 1992 when he moved to Roy, Utah. He married Carol Hellman, from which union were born Susan (Jason, Evan, Jesse), Karen (Karrie) and Robert E., Jr. (David, Jonathan, Hannah, Jeremiah, Samuel, Leah, Sara and Phillip). They were divorced. On December 27, 1991, Bob married Marilyn J. Cordon and their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on May 5, 1993. Bob claimed Marilyn''s children, Voss Cordon and Jenne Stephens (Farah, James, Erin, Matthew) all as his own and all were "ours". There are twelve great-grandchildren.

A kinder more gentle man has never been. He loved his two cats. He enjoyed making puns at anything said. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles and word games, all sports and reading. He wrote Marilyn beautiful poetry.

Bob had a testimony of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, knew and loved the scriptures and everything associated with his beliefs. Bob and Marilyn served in the Ogden LDS Temple for five years. Together they served an LDS service mission at the Employment Center in Layton, Utah. They loved serving together.

Bob wanted to go "home" and he did.

The family would like to thank all those at Ogden Regional Hospital who cared for him with such kindness.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family will meet friends for a visitation on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
