Robert E. Koger, Jr., Husband, Father, Papa, Son and Brother suddenly passed away on Valentine''s Day, 2010.
Rob was born January 26, 1953 in Ogden, Utah to Robert Eldon Koger, Sr. and Beverly Jean Scott. He graduated from Bonneville High in 1971. He spent his life striving to serve others. He served in the Georgia South Carolina Mission, and afterwards many Church callings.
On February 1, 1975, Rob married his eternal sweetheart, Sheryl Strong in the Ogden LDS Temple. Together Rob and Sheryl served as ordinance workers in the Ogden Utah Temple and as teachers of the 12 Step Recovery Program at the Weber County Kiesel Jail. He had a strong testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and Eternal families.
He worked for Qwest Communications for over 32 years where he made many friends and associates.
Rob was an extraordinary man who was a friend to all. He touched many lives for the better and it was said of him that he made everyone feel like a friend from first impression. He coached in many sports with his passion being football.
Nothing gave Rob more joy than spending time with his grandchildren. To them, he was Superman and a best friend rolled into one.
It is hard to let him go, but we know that our family is eternal and we will see him again. Joseph Smith stated that "No good man is called home early" and from this we know and understand that his mission on this earth is completed and now is the time for him to prepare the way for work to be done.
He has joined his father, Robert, Sr. and father-in-law, Dern P. Strong.
Rob left behind his "Dearest", his eternal companion, Sheryl, three sons and a daughter, Robert (Kristi), Kali (Scott) Warner, Jacob (Yvonne), Benjamin (Lonni); his mother, Beverly; a sister, Christie (Jerry) Drake and three brothers, Perry (Becky), Randy (Ann), Kelly (Ronda); six grandchildren, Dallin, Naomi, Kalista, Isaac, Adeline and Oliver.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all those who have been a part of his life. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 12th Ward Chapel, 125 East 5350 South.
Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church house.
