Robert James Little passed away, as he said he would, early Friday morning, March 30, 2012 at the VA hospital due to complications relating to congestive heart failure and "boredom."

He was born in the basement of his grandmother''s store, July 4, 1932 to James LeRoy Little and Felna Lulu Judd, in Fredonia, AZ and raised on a farm in Kanab, Utah. Later he moved to Orem, where graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1950. He went on to graduate from Snow College in 1953, where he played team sports in baseball, football and boxing.

He was drafted into the US Army, stationed in Ft. Lewis, WA as a company clerk and discharged from the 231 Engineering Battalion in 1954. He attended BYU, transferred to the School of Architecture at the U of U. He moved to Los Angeles where he graduated from the University of Southern California in 1960, with a degree in Architecture. He married Jolene Farley, from Orem, Utah, in the Los Angeles Temple October 28, 1961. He started his own architectural business and built a home in the Hollywood Hills, where they lived and raised their four children. In 1977 he moved his family to Bountiful, Utah and went to work as the manager of the Architectural and Engineering Departments for the LDS Church. He was licensed in 11 states, retiring in 1997.

Bob served in several Bishoprics, as a Bishop, on High Councils, Stake Missionary and Cub Scout leader. He and his wife served seven years as Committee Chairpersons for the Bountiful July 24th Handcart Days parade and was active in genealogy and the Sons of the Utah Pioneers. He served a mission with his wife to Palmyra, NY from 1999-2001 as construction representatives. When he returned, he was called to write a history on the structural changes since 1923 on the Mesa AZ Temple, then asked to do the same for others. His next assignment was to write programs for the new'' smaller'' temples starting with Rexburg ID, Draper UT and others. He finished this assignment in 2007. The design and construction of the Portland Temple was his most fulfilling. Bob has always been active in his church and his community. He loved volunteering his time listening to children read in CA and Utah elementary schools. He loved his family, and was an avid fan of all his children''s and grandchildren''s sports. He traveled the world, enjoyed fishing, gardening, designing homes for friends and family and making things practical. His influence was felt by many. He is survived by his wife Jolene, sister Connie, children Steve (Viktoriya), Sydney, Heather (Brian), Chad (Suzanne), ten grandchildren and one great-grandson. Preceded in death by his son Lane, sister Joan, and his parents.

Special thanks to Dr. Janell Jager, Dr. Tina Burton, and the telemetry crew at the VA hospital, they were simply awesome in caring for our Dad and his family.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Bountiful 25th Ward Chapel, 1500 S. 600 E. Friends may visit family Friday, Apr. 13th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Sat. from 9-9:45 am at the church prior to services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VA hospital, Make A Wish Foundation, Shrines Children''s Hospital or call your family and hug someone.
