Robert Marshall McKee

December 18, 1939 -January 19, 2017

Beloved husband, step-father, grandfather and friend passed away on Thursday morning, January 19, 2017 after a short battle with liver cancer at the age of 77.

He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on December 18, 1939, to James McKee and Rose Thiele.  His father was a coal miner and his mother worked as a domestic.  He was the last of 13 children and as a baby was placed in an orphanage along with two of his sisters.  He had no contact with his parents and was later put into foster care until he was a teenager. He did have some contact with his parents then but he left the Baltimore and Ohio area for California where he did

odd jobs until he could get a driver's license and then drove a cab for many years before moving to Las Vegas where he met and married Nadine Branstetter who had six adult children:  James, Danny, Patricia, John, Pamela and Clarence.  They lived in Las Vegas, NV, Flagstaff, AZ, and he worked for Auto Zone and she for Sears.  He was transferred to Enumclaw, WA. where he became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 2004. He and Nadine then moved back to Flagstaff and he retired.  He lost Nadine on June 12, 2010, due to complications of several surgeries.

Bob was alone until he met Bonnie Barnes in March of 2012 on a LDS Church Website.  They spent hours on emails, phone calls and skype getting to know each other really well and were married on September 1, 2012 in Centerville, Utah where he also inherited three more step-daughters:  Becky, Brandi and Brooke who he loved very much and was much loved by them.  He and Bonnie had a very loving relationship and many hours were spent in quiet companionship and travel.  He was a lot of fun and always had a comeback to jokes, etc.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:00 am in the LDS Centerville 1st Ward Chapel,160 S. 300 E., where friends and family may visit from 9:30 - 10:30 am prior to the services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
