Robert Ray Odekirk

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Robert Ray Odekirk, 83, of Farmington, Utah, passed away Tuesday August 26, 2008 from Alzheimer''s disease.

Born April 26, 1925 in Vineyard, Utah to John Ray and Mattie Marie Johnson Odekirk.

He served in World War II on the aircraft carrier USS Tripoli. He also served in the Air National Guard during the Korean conflict. His services in the Navy and the Guard started his lifelong love of airplanes. A graduate of the University of Utah, he worked 34 years as a mechanic for United Airlines.

He married Dorothy Doretta Wyatt on July 3, 1948. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on May 12, 1958. They were loving parents of three children. He was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Shirley Odekirk Young and two children Cheri Jean and Robert Lynn Odekirk. Survived by his wife, Dorothy, son David Kent (Sally), Jonathan (Tawnya), brother Forrest Odekirk, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 29, 2008 in the Davis Creek 1st Ward, 825 S. 50 E. Farmington, Utah. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and 10-10:45 am at the church prior to services. Interment Farmington City Cemetery.
