Bob Painter passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 of a heart ailment.

He was born May 1, 1927 in Farr West to Wyatt and Elizabeth (Bessie) Holdren Painter.

Bob married Bethene Wagstaff on October 7, 1950 in West Weber. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on October 7, 1958.

He attended Weber County Schools, and also served his country with the U.S. Marines during World War II.

Bob was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, West Weber 1st Ward. He served in the High Priest Group Leadership, Sunday School Presidency, and also as a home teacher.

He retired from Hill Air Force Base after 30 years of service as an Electrical Equipment Foreman. He trained thoroughbred race horses for over 50 years in most of the western states.

Bob loved his family and always put them first. He was extremely kind and generous. Bob and Bethene were best friends and treated each other so well. His love and example will live in our hearts forever. Bob is survived by his sweetheart of almost 59 years, Bethene, of West Weber; one daughter, Connie (Garth) Brown, of West Weber; four grandchildren, Bobbidee (Joe) Evans, of Wylie, Texas; Mitch (whom they have raised) (Sutton), of West Weber; Shannalee (Andrew) Penland, of West Weber; Haylee (Brent) Moser, of Sunset and 13 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two siblings, his brother, Lee (Cleo), of Plain City, and sister, Arlene Boyle, of Ogden.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy, his parents, two sisters, Helen Bonham and Elaine Bonham.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Glen Biddulph for the loving care he provided.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20th at 11 a.m. at the West Weber Ward Chapel, 4100 West 900 South.

Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Monday at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, West Weber Cemetery, where Military Honors will be accorded.
