Robert H. Peterson, 68, passed away at this home on Wednesday, August 3, 2016.  He was born on December 30, 1947 in Ogden, Utah to Howard and Virginia Peterson.  On September 10, 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Lia Dekker.

He started his career as a sales representative by working at his family’s business, Ketchum Builder Supply.  He advanced in his career by working for Bennett’s Paint and Glass, Howell’s Paints, and Glidden Paint Supply.  He also worked as a reserve volunteer for the Ogden City Police Department and later as a federal police officer for the Ogden Defense Depot (DDO).  He retired as an Ogden Police Department Officer.

Robert enjoyed camping, fishing, four wheeling, and spending time with his family and friends.  He brightened everyone’s day with his witty sense of humor and would go out of his way for anyone in need.  He had a great appreciation for music and learned to play the guitar in his retirement.

Robert is survived by his wife, Lia Peterson; son, Ronald (Heather) Peterson; daughter, Brenda Peterson Brown; grandchildren, Jordan Brown, Ashton Brown, and Miranda Peterson; and sister, Joan (Gary) Bland.  He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Cornelius and Nell Dekker; and brother, Gary Peterson.

A Celebration of Life for Robert will be held for family, friends, and acquaintances on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at 5871 Cassie Dr., South Ogden
