Colonel (ret) Robert Lloyd Rodee

March 10, 1931 ~ January 4, 2016

Honorable and committed husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, spiritual leader and friend passed away early Monday morning, January 4, 2016. He has returned home to a grand reunion with his God and family, hosted by the best there ever was, his beloved wife Mona.

Bob was born March 10, 1931 in Emporia, Kansas to Burrill Benjamin and Gladys R. Wright Rodee. He attended Emporia State College and later graduated from San Francisco State College. While at ESC he met, fell in love with, and married Mona Jean Anderson on October 10, 1952, in Coldwater, Kansas. They were together for 59 years until her death on December 31, 2011.

He honorably served his country in the US Air Force as a Jet Fighter Pilot from 1951 to 1977. He was a deeply devoted Air Force Officer and Jet Fighter Pilot and prior to retiring in Roy, Utah had moved 26 times during 27 years of active service.

He loved to play golf and bridge with friends.

Bob and Mona have been devoted members of Roy Christian Church for over 35 years. Bob served in various capacities at Roy Christian Church including, Elder, Trustee, Sunday School Teacher and Men’s Discipleship Leader.

Together they raised and are survived by three wonderful children, Timothy K. (Katherine E.) Rodee, David (Margaret A.) Rodee and Melissa J. Breitner, 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren that brought true joy to his life.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 11, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Roy Christian Church, 4347 South 1900 West, Roy. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, and Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. A luncheon for friends and family will follow the services & Interment.

Interment will be at Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Roy Christian Church Refresh Project.
