FRUIT HEIGHTS a€" Robert L. Russell, 71, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 of a stroke. He was born December 29, 1936 in Salt Lake City, and graduated from West High School. He also lived in Kaysville & Fruit Heights. He served his country in the Army Reserves for two and a half years and in the Navy for four years. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church. Bob married Ruth Sweat in 1958 in Salt Lake City (later divorced) they had a son Rick (Dorothy) Russell, and a daughter Debbie (John) Eagan. Nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Bob married Lorene Clark in 1988 and acquired six more children, Pat (Dave) Presnell, Sharlene (Ruben) Valerio, Cindy (Dwight) Baldwin, Janice (Brent) Harvey, Geri (Gary) Alberts, and Val (Sheri) Clark, 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren with two on the way.

When younger, Bob loved to race motorcycles and midget race cars. Bob worked as a Building Superintendant in Salt Lake City for 23 years, retiring in 2007. He could fix almost anything that needed fixing. He loved boating, fishing, camping, hunting and traveling. He loved family parties and barbeques. Bob especially loved holidays, his favorite was Christmas. Bob and Lorene''s yard was always decorated beautifully with hundreds of lights and displays. He was a lover of good food due to Lorene''s excellent cooking and he loved his ice cream! Bob loved all his family, extended family and all his friends and was loved by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary Russell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Fairways L.D.S. Chapel, 1533 N. 1075 W., Farmington. Friends and family may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Church. Funeral Directors Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.
