Robert S. (Bob) Shiffer
LAYTON a" Robert (Bob) Shiffer, 80, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2007 at his home.
He was born on October 26, 1926 to Anna M. Bryan in Bainbridge, PA. He was later adopted by his step-father Paul Shiffer in Elizabethtown, PA. He married Arlene (Till) Ebersole on November 30, 1947 in The Church of God, Elizabethtown, PA.
Bob loved life and lived it to the fullest. He spent time in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked at Olmsted AFB in Middletown, PA and then retired from Hill AFB, Utah, December 1981. Bob was a true sports enthusiast enjoying baseball, softball, football, golfing, fishing, square dancing and camping.
His first love, after his wife and family was his Masonic Fraternity. He was a lifetime member and past Master of Gateway Lodge No. 29 in Clearfield, Utah.
He believed in Masonary, not only as a fraternal organization, but as a way of life. He was also an active member of The Clearfield Community Church in Clearfield, Utah and truly enjoyed serving his God and his Church.
Surviving are his wife Arlene Shiffer, daughter Beth Ann Kasey, son Bryan R. (Jill) Shiffer, grandchildren, Kimberly, Heather, Alisha, Jacque and two great-grandsons, Samuel and Morgan and numerous cousins.
Bob is being cremated and a memorial service will be conducted by his Masonic Lodge brothers at the Clearfield Community Church, 200 So. 500 E., Clearfield, Utah on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers family suggest donations to the Shrine Crippled Children''s Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah.
