KAYSVILLE a€" Robert Stanley Smith Sr., 79, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008.

He was born May 29, 1928 in Kalaheo, Hawaii the son of Thomas Leonard and Margaret Moura Smith. Robert married Mildred Lucille Cordeiro on November 19, 1948 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He was an organic gardener, collected stamps and coins, liked fishing, woodworking and sports.

Surviving are his wife Mildred of West Point; son, Robert Smith Jr. of Layton; two daughters, Margaret (Charles) Bishop of Muncie, Indiana; Babette (Dennis) Hillyer of Layton; four grandchildren, Crissy (Jared) Steed, Donald A. Laursen III, Robert (Heather) Smith III, Andrea Hillyer and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 29, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road with Monsignor Victor Bonnell, Officiating. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
