Our beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 8th 2024, after a battle with Parkinsons and Dementia. He was born June 25, 1952, in Ogden, Utah to Shirley Peterson and Sterling Paul Weller and grew up in Sunset, Utah.
As a child he enjoyed road trips to Ramsey, Illinois where his father was raised. He also enjoyed his weekly visits to his grandma Peterson’s house in Logan and spent a lot of time in Logan canyon with his cousins.
He attended Clearfield High School, where he met his high school sweetheart. Bob married Marsha Bingham on February 12, 1971, in West Point, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden, Utah Temple on their 10-year anniversary, February 12, 1981.
Bob and Marsha were blessed with five wonderful children, Stacey Johnson (Paul), Curtis Weller (Amber), Candice Benson (Tav), Daniel Weller (Carli), and Marci Fifield (Gary).
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings.
He loved to camp, hike, river raft, fish, and golf. He loved the outdoors and appreciated the beauty of nature.
Bob worked in law enforcement and security his entire career. He loved his work as a deputy sheriff at the Davis County Sheriff’s Office and his time spent on the paramedic truck. He also worked at Syracuse Police Dept. and had many wonderful memories of his experiences there.
Bob worked as Security Supervisor at Layton Hills Mall, Matrixx Marketing, and at the Chevron Refinery. After 9/11, he was with the first group of screening managers to train for the Transportation Security Administration in Oklahoma. He trained screening officers at airports in Michigan, New York, Maryland, Salt Lake City, American Samoa, St. George, Cedar City, and Vernal. He was later promoted to Aviation Security Inspector at Salt Lake City Airport.
He started a small engine repair business with his son-in-law and worked there for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, William Paul Weller.
He is survived by his wife, children, and a brother Bradford Scott Weller. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A special thanks to the many friends and family who helped watch over him during his later years when he couldn’t be left alone.
We give special thanks to Dignity Hospice for their kindness and care in making his last days comfortable, especially Mesha, Jessica, Morgan, Kei, Nichole, and Jonna.
