Robert Lee Stoffers

October 16, 1939 ~ April 5, 2017

Bob Stoffers passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family after a brief battle with cancer.  He was born in a little white house in Cokeville, WY on October 16, 1939, the oldest child of Leroy H. and Alyce Parslow Stoffers.  He moved to Ogden in his youth and graduated from Ogden High School in 1958.

He married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Karen Clow.  They raised their three children in Ogden and North Ogden, where many family and friends enjoyed their wonderful backyard.

Bob was happiest spending time with his family or when playing, coaching or spectating any sporting event.

He earned his living as an aircraft electrician (Phantom Phixer) at Hill Air Force Base.  Due to their hard work, Bob and Karen were able to retire young and live their dream traveling in their 5th wheel during the summers and living in Arizona in the winters.  This allowed him the opportunity to make many friends and play senior softball to his heart’s content which included many teams in AZ and The Huntsman Senior Games in St. George, UT.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his sister, Vivian Hensley; grandson, Austin Sims; and great-granddaughter, Reagan Oram.  He is survived by his wife, Karen; and their children, Stephanie Stoffers (Michele), Shawna Stone, and Robert Stoffers (Heather); as well as his “Wonderful” beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He also leaves behind his brother, Daniel Stoffers (Nickie); his sisters, Elaine Woolsey (Don) and Betty Gailey (Kent); and his treasured nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the mortuary. Family interment will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 9 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd., South Ogden.

In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations be made to Huntsman Cancer Center or any youth sports program.

In the words of Bob, “You’re Wonderful!!”
