Robert Butler Storey passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2013 in the comfort of his home with family at his side after a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer''s.
Bob was born on November 14, 1932 to Ralph Ellis Storey and Virginia Butler Storey in Ogden Utah. He attended Ogden City Schools and was Commander in the ROTC at Ogden High School where he graduated in 1949.
He married Dixie Donoviel. They were married for 22 years, and then divorced. He married Jill Christensen Craner on November 21, 1974. Their marriage was solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ogden Temple on November 21, 1995.
He was a member of the Powder Mountain Ski Patrol for 20 years, and earned membership in the National Ski Patrol receiving his National Ski Patrol Number. He worked at Storey Food Products, Farr''s Ice Cream, Rusty''s Drive-In, Fred M. Nye and Hill Air Force Base. He retired in 1993 after 42 years of Federal Service.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served diligently as Counselor in the Branch Presidency at Mount Ogden Care Center, High Priest Presidency, Ward Membership Clerk, Special Needs Mutual, Employment Specialist, and as a Home Teacher. He also served in the Boy Scout program for many years.
He and Jill enjoyed many wonderful years camping in the beautiful mountains with family and friends. They traveled throughout the United States, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. He also traveled to Germany as a part of his Federal career.
He lived in Ogden, Roy and Washington Terrace, Utah.
Surviving are his wife Jill Storey of Washington Terrace, UT; his Brother Ray Ellis (Linda) Storey of West Point, UT; his children Taunya (Jeff) Williamson, Ogden, UT; Scott Robert Storey of Roy, UT; Lawrence Tod (Jennifer) Storey, Riverton, UT; Chad Michael (Susan) Craner, Leesburg, VA; Kimberly Craner (Lanse) Chournos, St. George, UT. He has 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his Mother and Father and one granddaughter, Gretchen Tyler Hamilton.
A celebration of Bob''s life will be held at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Friday October 4th at 2 p.m., with a viewing on Thursday, October 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Friday.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.
Special thanks are offered to the staff of Intermountain Home Care who so lovingly provided hospice care to Bob.
