Robert Paul Strebel Sr.

Robert “Bob” Strebel, 91, of Layton, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, in St. George, Utah. He was born in Provo on August 25, 1930, son of Erma Baum Strebel and Paul R. Strebel. Robert was raised in Provo, moved to SLC, and then settled in Washington Terrace where he attended Weber High School.
While working at the Ogden Arsenal, he met and married Joyce Bassett. They were married for 53 years before Joyce passed away in 2005. Robert and Joyce had four children together: Bob (Ann), Dave (Pennie), Debbie (Mike), and Jeffrey. In 2008, Robert married Dolores Perkins, increasing the blessings of family: Geri (Scott), Todd (Katy), Brett (Toni), Jamie (Wayne), Brooke (Sarah), Ryan (Heidi). Robert and Dolores have lived in Layton and St. George for 14 years.
Robert served in the US Navy, worked as a computer programmer at HAFB, and owned several businesses including Intermountain Refuse. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Robert served in many positions including Bishop of the Sunset 4th Ward. Robert enjoyed panning for gold, golfing, fishing, gardening, going to garage sales, and playing cards. He has been an amazing Dad, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa.
To commemorate Robert’s life, friends and family are invited to celebrate on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Lindquist Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah, and/or at the Wellsville, Utah Cemetery, 400 N. 200 E. Lindquist Times: 8:30 a.m. Family Viewing; 9:30 a.m. Public Viewing; 11:00 a.m. Services Celebrating Robert’s Life; 2:30 p.m. Wellsville Cemetery for Military Honors and Dedication of the Grave.
