Robert Swider

Robert “Bob” Swider ROY – Robert “Bob” Swider, 79, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007. Bob was born September 12, 1927 in Lansford, Pennsylvania, the oldest son of Andrew and Anna Swider. He was reared and educated in Lansford and shortly after graduation, joined the U.S. Air Force retiring after 20 years of honorable service. On November 5, 1954 he married Arlene Ann Jones, of Morris, Minnesota. Together they raised four children: Robert J. Swider, Susan M. Swider, Kathryn G. Hampton, and Sami J. Tomsick. Mom and Dad were blessed with three grandchildren, Ashley P. (Clinton) Stevens, Karly Jo Swapp, and Sethe J. Tomsick. Dad was the most generous and giving man we have ever known, and always quick to laugh. He loved frequent visits to Wendover with his kids, cooking, watching sports and crossword puzzles. He is survived by his children, grandchildren and his siblings: John (Debbie) Swider, Andrew (Mary) Swider, Dolly (Bob) Higgins, Kenny Swider and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews all from Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Arlene. Graveside services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale, UT, where Military Honors will be accorded. Following the services there will be an open house at 5 p.m. at 1338 Arlington Drive, Ogden, UT. The family wishes to thank all of the wonderful caregivers at Crestwood Care Center and Applegate Hospice for their kind and loving care. We are grateful that you are finally free from living nearly 40 years with the insidious and painful ravages of Rheumatoid Arthritis and have no more pain. God Speed Dad, you will be missed.
