Robert "Bud" Trappett
ROY - Robert "Bud" K. Trappett passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011.
He was born March 25, 1930 in Grace, Idaho, the son of John and Audrey Trappett. He lived near Grace, Idaho, and in Salt Lake City, Utah. He then moved to Ogden, Utah, and was raised his by father and step-mother Lillie Trappett.
Robert married Helen Stewart on February 11, 1950 in Ogden, Utah where they made their home. Bud was a devoted husband and father.
Bud joined the U.S. Navy at 17 years of age and served for five years. His time in the Navy was followed by a civil service career at Hill Air Force Base of 33 years. However, he was a farmer at heart and enjoyed raising cattle and helping Helen with her gardening. During his retirement, he spent the winters with Helen and their friends in Yuma, Arizona.
He is survived by his sisters, Wanda Lythgoe and Wilma White; brother, Kurt Hill; son, David Trappett; daughter, Susan Mastronardi; grandchildren, Shelley and Jackson; great-grandchildren, Gage, Ashlee, and Ken.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, his parents, his step-mother, his brother, John (Ray) Trappett; and sisters, Lela Wardle, Carol Tavey, and Ruth Tudder.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 11 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family will visit with friends at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund.
