Robert B. Vogt
OGDEN – Robert Benton Vogt, 84, died Monday, December 7, 2009 at his home in Ogden.
He was born June 18, 1925 in Lamar, Colorado, a son of Benton Clyde Vogt and Mamie Scott Wagner.
On February 7, 1947, Bob married Norine Hart in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
He served in World War II as an Ariel gunner on B-17’s flying 32 Combat Missions over Germany, and also in the Korean War serving in France.
Bob was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He had three careers during his lifetime. He first worked at Williamsons Body and Equipment, Hill Air Force Base and following his retirement from there, he owned and operated Vogt Manufacturing.
Bob was a volunteer at the Hill Aerospace Museum, McKay-Dee Hospital and the 2002 Winter Olympics.
Surviving are his wife, Norine, two sons and two daughters, Robert (Kris) Vogt, Curtis (Patty) Vogt, Gina (Clay) Cash, Kristi (Brad) Ostler, 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Bonnie (Robert) Wamsbly and Juanita Beesley.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Amie Cash.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where Military Honors will be accorded.
