Robert Ward

Robert Melvin Ward was born February 10, 1936, in Logan, Utah to Melvin Zundel and Louise C. Zollinger Ward. Robert surrendered his will on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at his home in Layton, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was married to Jayne Cook Ward on August 30, 1985. They enjoyed 30 wonderful years together.

Robert loved and understood the Gospel Plan and had a sincere desire to live worthy of his Saviors Atoning Sacrifice. He was a man of great faith and trusted his life and it’s living to his Heavenly Father. He was a man of unquestionable honor, integrity and true Charity. He honored his Priesthood and many benefited from his exercise of those Priesthood powers and responsibilities.

Bob was a master craftsman and produced many works of quality and beauty in his hobby of building street rods and a fantastic steam engine, among many other items. He served his Country in the Army in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. He was a machinist at Hill Air Force Base for many years, until his retirement in 2000.

Robert is survived by his wife Jayne Cook Ward, the children he loved and appreciated with all of his heart, Edward C. Hartline (Staci), Meichelle V. (Jeff) Lipshitz; and the grandchildren he loved and adored, Toree, Brandy, Austin, Riley, Kirk and Bailie their spouses and his six great grandchildren and was looking forward to the two more “on the way”, and his wonderful nieces and nephews. His brother Ferris Ward, and his sisters Pat (Kent) Parker, Jackie Ward, Janet (Steve) Woolsey. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his sister Marva (Devon) Morse, and his sister-in-law Tilly (Ferris) Ward.

Bob had many loyal, faithful friends during his sojourn here on the earth and the family wishes to express their love and appreciation to them for their love and support. A special thanks to Jason Smith, Scott Mason and other friends who helped him with his last “car project”.

We are so grateful for our 4 th Ward Bishopric and Ward Family, friends and neighbors dear who have blessed our lives with their acts of loving Christ-like service.
