Robert Christian Watts of South Ogden passed peacefully on March 11, 2025, surrounded with love by his family. Born August 8, 1939, in Ogden and was raised in Ogden and Willard, Utah.
Bob graduated from Box Elder High School and attended college at Weber State College and Cal State Fullerton. Bob proudly served as a Yeoman Second Class (E4) in the US Navy Reserve, traveling to Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan aboard the CA 124, USS Rochester (Cruiser Attack Ship). He was Honorably discharged on October 20, 1963.
Bob enjoyed an accomplished and rewarding career, both at Catalina in California and Pike in Utah as director of distribution, however when asked to elaborate on his successful career he would shoot his trademark wicked grin and respond, “I’m the boss that’s all you need to know”.
Bob enjoyed golf, skiing, cooking, as well as sharing his love for music and singing with multiple choirs and the occasional family wedding. He was known to gift CDs with him singing his favorite Christmas songs including the rousing crowd pleaser “C’mon Ring Those Bells!” He also affectionately carried the moniker of “Dill King” to anyone who enjoyed his adventures at the grill and were inspired by his passion for the zesty herb.
Bob survived by his beloved daughters, Kathy (Steve) Jones and Linda (John) Martin; sons, Earl “Bill” Holmes and Jeff (Marianne) Watts; nine cherished grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and siblings, Patricia Watts Gudmunsen, Richard E Watts (Alice), Karen Watts Rash; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his wife, Martha Watts; parents, Eldon and Madge Watts; son, Michael Holmes; and siblings, Leona Watts Allred and Adele Kay Watts.
He is remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, ability to make everyone a friend, and an all-around cool guy.
