Robert Wallace Whyte, passed away, Tuesday, February 16, 2010.
He was born September 8, 1920 in Salina, Utah to Charles Wallace and Thelma Ross Mitchell Whyte.
On May 15, 1942, Robert married Betty Bernice Simonsen. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Betty preceded him in death on September 25, 1974 and their son, Robert Michael Whyte, who died at the age of 7 A½.
He later married Orlene Ross Labrum on January 18, 1975 in Tremonton, Utah. He is survived by a very large family, his wife, Orlene; children, Patty (Alan) Benson, of Longmont, Colorado; Sue (Pete) Quinney, of Plain City, Utah; Sandy (Blair) McFarland, of Tucson, Arizona; Sherry (Neil) Anderson, of Smithfield, Utah; Barry (Lynda) Labrum, of Mapleton, Utah; Pam (Russ) Anderson, of Kaysville, Utah; 42 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was Mayor of Ft. Lupton, Colorado and was very active in the community.
Bob was an outstanding banker, it was in his blood. He retired from the Longmont Colorado First National Bank, where he served as Vice-president. He enjoyed his association with all the employees and patrons. After his retirement, Bob and Orlene moved to Ogden, Utah.
Bob was an active member of the South Ogden 8th Ward, where he served in many callings and was an Ogden Temple Worker for 13 years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the South Ogden 8th Ward Chapel, 720 Nancy Drive.
Friends and family may call Saturday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.
Interment, Richfield, Utah Cemetery, dedicatory prayer at 4:00 p.m.
