Robert “Bob” W. Williams
SOUTH OGDEN – Robert “Bob” Wayne Williams left this world to go to the ultimate trap shoot on Thursday, April 24, 2008.
He was born July 27, 1926 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Arthur Ray and Rowene May Williams. He was raised in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1944. He was allowed an early out of school and joined the U.S. Army serving in Germany during WWII.
Bob returned to Ogden and attended Weber Academy where he met and married Joan Manning. They were married April 1, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple and have shared 60 years together. To this union was born three sons, Ryan Dee, Raoul Bart, and Rory Jay. The family has since grown with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He became a licensed journeyman plumber in the State of Utah where he worked until recalled back into service during the Korean Conflict where he served in the Army Air Corp. He founded Williams Plumbing and Heating in 1953 and was a commercial mechanical contractor for 48 years. He served on the board of directors for the State Plumbing Apprentice Committee and was active on the board of directors for the Mechanical Contractors Association serving as President in 1977.
Bob cherished the time he spent with his family attending football games, band concerts, horse shows, trap shoots, social events and family outings. He always anticipated and enjoyed the time he spent outdoors hunting or fishing and this was very evident during his many trips to Yellowstone Lake.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 3 at 11 a.m. at the Hooper Cemetery.
Family will meet friends at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. on Friday, May 2 from 6 to 8 p.m.
