Roberta Jones Stephensen

Our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Roberta Jones Stephensen, 85, was called home on Friday, June 28, 2013.

She was born on February 6, 1928 in Preston, Idaho to Helen Marr Fullmer and Robert Alexander Jones. Roberta married the love of her life, Wells Jenkins Stephensen, on November 14, 1947 in Ogden and they were later sealed together in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They lived in Ogden for 13 years and eventually settled in Roy where they lived for 53 years and raised their family.

Roberta was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served two missions with her husband where they worked to gather and photograph records. She held many other callings throughout the years, but her favorite was her missions with Wells. She worked at the Defense Depot of Ogden and also volunteered her time working with Hospice.

She loved playing cards with her friends and also enjoyed fishing, camping and archery. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially all the grandchildren. She was known for always wanting to feed her friends and family, and made sure that everyone knew they were welcome in her home.

Roberta is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Wells; sons, David L. (Connie) Stephensen of Clinton and Wells Wayne (Nancy) Stephensen of West Weber; daughters, Diana (Rex) Widdison of Hooper and Lorie Stephensen of Roy; 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren, and her eight siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Friends may visit family on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
