Robert “Craig” Ewing

Robert “Craig” Ewing passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 72 and was found on June 21, 2021. Craig was born on February 14, 1949 to his beloved father and mother, Archie Fred Ewing and Wanda Louise Vohes Ewing in Springville, Utah. Valentine’s Day was a fitting day for his soul to bore this Earth, as a loving and generous man was found beneath his rough exterior.

In 1968, He graduated from Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah. Soon after, he attended the University of Utah.

His stable and responsible attributes led him to find his fitting career at HAFB as a sheet metal mechanic. Craig earned many merits and awards for working on fighting jets before he retired from Hill Air Force Base to pursue his passions of building and inventing useful things and to become a self-sufficient outdoorsman.

His love for fishing and hunting took him from the Kenai River in Alaska down to Cabo San Lucas and everywhere in between. One of his most proud catches was a marlin that nearly speared him while ocean fishing.

Craig will be missed by his daughter Brandie, grandchildren Aubri and Nick, siblings Mark, Jan and Paul and his many life-long friends who became family. In his afterlife he will reunite with the ones he loved in his lifetime including his father, mother, and his many friends including Rhonda.

Per his request, a traditional service will not be held. Instead, his cremated remains will be sprinkled along the Kenai river as he wished.  Letters of love and affirmation may be sent to 711 Rancho Via drive, Sparks NV, 89434 or at brandiewing1@gmail.com where his family will read aloud during the spread of his ashes in Craig’s honor and remembrance of his human experience. Many thanks to all his beautiful friends, family and community that aided him in his life and death.

Cremation care entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
