Robin Kent Barnum
OGDEN – Our beloved father and grandfather, Robin Kent Barnum, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008, at LDS Hospital from complications associated with cancer (Multiple Myeloma).
Robin was born to Norman and Almeda Barnum on March 5, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas. Robin was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in New Mexico and Arizona where he gained a lifetime love and appreciation for the Navajo people and their language and culture.
He married Susan Cammack on December 17, 1976 in Ogden, Utah. Together they raised their four children in the Davis County area. They were later divorced, yet remained close friends.
Dad enjoyed music, watching BYU football, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren and extended family.
Robin is survived by his father, his children: Jeremy (Melanie), Washington D.C.; Brandon (Amanda), Sacramento, CA; Amanda (Jason) Bennett, Ogden; and Darren (Amanda), Roy; grandchildren: McKayli, J.T., Addisyn, Boston, Braydon, and Alexys; and his siblings: Margo Hawker, Dudley Barnum, Christy Knox, and Steven Barnum who made a valiant donation of his own stem cells in Robin’s fight against cancer.
Robin was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Sullivan Hollow 1st Ward Chapel, 976 – 33rd Street, with Bishop Michael Streadbeck of the Windsor Meadows 2nd Ward officiating.
Family will meet friends at the Ward Chapel on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
