ROBIN ROBINSON

1927-2014

Robin T. Robinson was born on May 12, 1927 to proud parents Natalie Virginia Long and Richard Wayne Tankersley.  What a joy it was raising that daughter!

As a young girl, Robin enjoyed the “art trips” her family would go on for her Daddy’s work.  As a young woman she always brought excitement and adventure with her!  In school Robin excelled in English and was a straight A student.  She was graduated from Wilbur Wright High School, (Dayton, OH) in 1945.   Robin worked at Master Electric in Dayton and the Dayton Daily News. She had several fun filled vacations with her sister, Jackie, in Daytona Beach, Florida.  She met Fred V. Robinson at Eastwood Swimming Pool in Dayton, OH.  Robin Rae married Fred in the Presbyterian Church in Daytona Beach on February 14, 1950.  Fred & Robin Robinson headed out on their honeymoon to start a new life out West.  They landed up in Bountiful, UT with seven beautiful children that were dearly loved.  Robin loved babies and spoiled each of her seven children.  Each child was involved in sports, dancing and the Scouting Programs.   She renewed her educational skills at DATC, graduating with remarkable grades.  Her journey continued at JCPenney Company, where Robin continually exceeded in sales and was made Manager of Catalog Sales winning numerous prestigious awards.  Many lifelong friends were made there.

Robin LOVED HER CHILDREN!  She also loved to read, grow house plants as well as gardening, collect antique books and glassware. Mom made Sunday dinners a family event…      what flavor of cake this Sunday?  Many cook-outs also took place in her beautiful back yard.  Mom was FUNNY!! Her humorous comments could be counted on.  Robin touched so many lives by her care and concern for others.

Robin passed away very peacefully on the afternoon of October 14, 2014.  Oh how her Daddy and Nan rejoiced that day!!  Her beloved brother could not wait to tease her again!!

She is survived by her sister, Jacqueline (Marvin) Sabatino, children, Wayne (Helen), Shirley (Ken) Knighton, Brad (Cindy), Bonnie Rogers, Barbara Nelson, Natalie (Buzz) Rosson, Amy Melinda (George) Freestone and 18 grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her dear brother  Dick  Tankersley, both loving parents Wayne and Natalie Long Tankersley,  Fred V. Robinson and son-in-law  Ken Myron Nelson.

Thank you for giving us life lessons that were hard but made us stronger individuals.  Love you Mama Bear!!

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 26, at 1:00 p.m. (the day before Thanksgiving) at the Bountiful City Cemetery.

Care entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.  Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
