Roger Eugene Armstrong

May 2, 1928 ~ August 29, 2015

Roger Eugene Armstrong, 87, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015.  This was a special day for his family because it was his parent’s anniversary date.  He was born in Elm Creek, Nebraska on May 2, 1928, the son of Earl Clifford and Sylvia Anne Neidigh Armstrong.  The family later moved to Ogden, Utah.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he received his 60 year membership pin.  He was also a member of the Roy Elks and the United States Naval Reserve.

Roger was an avid golfer.  He enjoyed going to Wendover and canning his own special brand of ketchup.  Roger also had a quick wit and a great sense of humor.

Roger is survived by his children, Janet Deschaine, Fond du Lac, WI; Kristy Armstrong Groom, Virginia Beach, VA; and Kimberly Dawn A. Breski, Roy, UT; three grandchildren, Brian J. Bell, Jedd E. Groom, and Tiffany R. Groom; sister, Anita Alberti; nephews and nieces, and a longtime loving friend, Frances Hunter.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and siblings, Virginia Armstrong Kenfield, Martha Armstrong Thornton, and Stanley L. Armstrong.

The family would like to thank Lori Maki and Ron H. Bell for their continued support and loving care for dad.

A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1339 West 400 North, Marriott-Slaterville.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery at a later date.
