Roger L. Foster
BAY CITY, Oregon – Roger LeRoy Foster, 65, died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at his home in Bay City, Oregon.
He was born July 9, 1942 in Long Beach, California, a son of Thomas LeRoy and Nadine Violet Scott Foster. He graduated from Excelsior High School in Norwalk, California. He had lived in Artesia, California; Lake Elsinore, California; Ogden, Utah; Malad, Idaho; and Bay City, Oregon.
On September 2, 1972, Roger married Savada Stephenson in Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death on March 17, 1994.
He served his country with the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1966.
Roger worked as a machinist for Parker-Hannifin, first in Santa Ana, California, then in Ogden for 29 years. He retired in 2003.
He was a model railroad enthusiast, a patriotic citizen and sang and played the electronic keyboard and autoharp. Throughout his life, Roger loved the symbol of the American Eagle and surrounded himself with art and clothing that bore that symbol.
Surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Dick Diamond, Bay City, OR; nephews, Rick Diamond, Texas; Jeff Diamond (Shana Leslie) and Tom Diamond, all of Arizona; nieces, Laura Roche, Maine; Shana Leslie, Arizona; and 12 grandnephews and nieces.
Also surviving are his special friends, Art and Donna Kunau, Riverdale, UT.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
