Roger Sparks Sr., 54, passed away suddenly on Easter morning from unexpected complications of a heart ablation.
He was born June 24, 1956 in California to Norma Farris and Darrell Sparks.
Roger married his sweetheart, Lari Moser, after just 20 days of meeting. They were married May 27, 1976 and later sealed in the Arizona Mesa Temple after their conversion to the LDS Church. They were married for almost 35 years.
Roger, retired from the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1995 and he enjoyed six years working for Burlington Northern Railroad where his love for the rails was increased. He has worked for TSA since 2002 where he has been a Federal Security Inspector and a Surface Lead for the State of Utah for the last few years.
His most important role in life was as a father. His family was his pride and joy, he wanted nothing more than to make Lari happy and spend time with his family. He took great comfort and peace in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was a true patriarch to his family. It is only fitting that he returned to his Heavenly Father on one of the most important days of the year.
Roger is survived by his parents, Norma Stricklin, Darrell and Mary Lou Sparks; his wife, Lari Sparks, and five children, Heather (Nathan), Sara, Roger (Alyssa), Micah, Martha (Scott) and seven beautiful grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Bob, Bart, Ricky, Craig, and Dean.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Henry.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29th at 11 a.m. at the Clinton 19th Ward Chapel, 702 West 1300 North, Clinton.
The family will meet with friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Friday from 9:45 to10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
In lieu of bouquets of flowers we are asking for your help to finish dad''s last project for mom. Any potted perennial flowers (sunny area) would be welcomed, so mom can have her large flower garden. We know dad would want mom to have this last gift from him. Thank you for making it possible.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lindquistmortuary.com
