Roger Leslie Spencer passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 27, 2017, in Roy, Utah.

He was born on December 16, 1956, to Leslie E. and Rosemary Schofield Spencer. Roger was raised in Clearfield, Utah. He had a very loving home, with wonderful parents, neighbors, friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and members of the Clearfield 2nd Ward. They all loved him dearly and helped to raise him.

Roger’s family is grateful to the many loving and caring staff members of the Utah State Developmental Center who have become part of his family for the past 43 years. Thank you to each of you for helping him to be comfortable and content through many years.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Lorenzo Amos and Ivy May Dalton Schofield; and Edwin William and Florence Elizabeth Winter Spencer. Bishop Evan Fawcett of the Clearfield 2nd Ward will officiate at a graveside service on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Roy City Cemetery, 5200 S. 2300 W. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S.

His family and friends have fun and beautiful memories of his childhood, and will be invited to share one of those memories at the graveside service.
