Our loving father, grandfather, and friend, Ron Dawson, 80, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016.

He was born November 3, 1935 in Ogden, Utah to Albert Lawrence and Emily Katharine Dawson.

On August 17, 1956 Ron married Betty Anne Sparks in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He was a member of the LDS church and served as a Scout Master and in other scouting positions for many years. Ron has loved scouting and especially the time he spent doing Eagle Court of Honors.

He loved his family and especially spending time with his grandsons. He enjoyed fishing, model trains, remote controlled airplanes and tractors.

Ron is survived by his children; a daughter, Roxanne (Paul) Petroff, a son, David R. (Rebecca) Dawson, and his three grandsons Jeremiah, John, and Daniel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, parents Albert and Emily, and his siblings Dale and Bernice.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
