Ronald Scott Ford
August 29, 1958 ~ June 16, 2021
Ronald Scott Ford, 62, passed away on June 16, 2021, in the arms of his loving wife. They were on their way to the Clinic when he passed. He was born on August 29, 1958 to parents Sharon Stewart Ford Durst and James Eli Ford in Ogden, UT. He grew up in Sunset, UT for 16 years. After that Ron’s mom, who worked in civil service was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, for two years. Ron graduated from Kubasaki High School in 1976.
Ron served in the U.S. Army from 1979 to 1981. After that he moved back to Ogden, UT and lived there for 25 years. He married Mechille K Cutlip on February 24, 1991, in Ogden. They later moved to Big Sky and Boseman, Montana. Moved back to Ogden in 2005 so Mechille could care for her ailing mother.
Ronald was a Line Cook for 20 years in the restaurant business, and a brick mason for 30 years prior to that. He was very talented, there wasn’t much he couldn’t do. He valued hard work and taught his children the same thing.
He loved watching movies, fishing, and rock hunting. He had a passion for righting wrongs. Took it upon himself to help the underdog, whatever the consequence might be to himself. Mostly you’d find him spoiling Mechille. He loved to go for a drive and listen to music the way he liked “So You could feel it”. He liked all kinds of music.
He was a kind and generous man. No matter how bad things were sometimes, he always seemed to make things better. Although he was not a religious man, he was very spiritual, and helped those he came in contact with. He will truly be missed. He was my soul mate.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Mechille of Ogden, UT; sons, Christopher S (Elise) Ford of Pleasant View, UT, Jody B (Alex) Greenhalgh of Ogden, UT; grandchildren, Gavin Lucky Ford and Devon Lee Greenhalgh of Ogden, UT; parents, James and Mary Ann Ford of Alpha, Ohio; stepfather, Durwood “Dusty” Durst of Sierra Vista, AZ; and brother, Robert Ford of Sierra Vista.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Durst, and his grandparents.
