Ronald David Haas

March 24, 1947 to August 3, 2014

Ronald David Haas was born March 24, 1947 to Raymond David Haas and Pauline Katherine Butler, in San Diego, California.  He passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 in West Bountiful, Utah at the age of 67.

Ron grew up in Lemon Grove, California, graduating from Mount Miguel High School in 1965, and Grossmont College in 1969.  He was a commercial general contractor in the San Diego area for more than 45 years directing the building of numerous schools, community centers, fire and police stations, churches, banks, restaurants and military facilities.  He loved to work with his hands, was a master carpenter, and was known for his honesty and integrity.

He was married to his sweetheart, Katherine Beverly Street, on October 20, 1967 and later sealed in the LDS Los Angeles California Temple on January 25, 1969. They are the parents of five children, and 15 grandchildren.

Ron enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing, hunting and marksmanship.  He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved to serve in the Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Beverly, and his children Ronald David Jr. (Janice), Caroline Kwin Holmes, Katherine Bessie Bobo (Robert), Ryan Raymond (Rachel), and Rustin Charles (Ashley).  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Bountiful  Mortuary, 727 North 400 East.  On Friday, August 8, 2014 a visitation will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 1930 North 600 West in West Bountiful, Utah.  The memorial service will be conducted by Bishop Jeff Huggard.  Inter ment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery located at 200 “N” Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
