Ronald Dean Korth
RIVERDALE - Our father, Ronald Dean Korth, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 28, 2008.
Ron was born in Ogden, Utah to Dean and Marilyn Korth on May 25, 1952. He served his country for four years in the United States Army.
Ron was married to Joy Billmire on April 15, 1977 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were later divorced.
Ron attended Weber State College where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology. He later went on to study at Brigham Young University where he obtained a Master’s of Education degree. He was employed with the Clearfield Job Corps for 20 years. He also practiced as a licensed clinical therapist.
He was an active member of the LDS Church and served diligently in numerous callings.
Ron had a passion for American western classics, jungle cats and the Kansas City Chiefs. He also loved various games, from Scrabble to Pinochle and his own invention, the Dime Game.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dean and Marilyn Korth and his brother, Gary Korth.
Ron is survived by his sister Linda (Lynel) Korth, Westminster, CO; and his step-mother Shirley Korth, Cearfield, UT. In Ron’s last days he truly lived for his children: Rachel (Brian) Walker, Las Vegas, NV; Peter Korth, Salt Lake City, UT; Mary (Charlie) Johnson, Salt Lake City, UT; Benjamin Korth, Clearfield, UT; and Carrie (Brian) Hanni, South Ogden, UT. Ron also had a special place in his heart for his granddaughters Leah and Annie Walker and Sadie Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
