Ronald Hess Olson
November 24, 1940 ~ April 13, 2016
Ronald Hess Olson, born on November 24, 1940, returned home to the arms of a loving Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, surrounded by his caring family. He had fought a valiant 8 year battle against Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia. He will always be remembered for his work ethic, and love of the scriptures. Ronald’s hard working father taught him how to have such a green thumb, and Ronald could make anything blossom. His garden was the envy of everyone who saw it. His service in the British London Mission forever impacted the decision he made in life. Whatever he did it had to be perfect. He was an ABS Rep, had his own masonry company, as well as his own trucking and excavating company.
At a church dance one summer night, Ronald met Karmen Ross, and life flourished from then on. She became his eternal companion and they were able to be sealed in London, England LDS Temple, for time and all eternity. Together there was nothing that Ron and Karmen could not accomplish. They served three faithful LDS missions in Hungary, Zimbabwe, and Botswana. Ronald cherished his missions and always shared spiritual experiences with his posterity.
Ronald leaves behind ten kids and numerous grandchildren, Ronda (Thad) Call, Chad Olson, Tami (Danny) Larsen, Ryan (Amy) Olson, Tharren (Jackie) Ross, Michelle (John) Manley, Steven (Asano) Ross, Nathan Ross, Jennifer (Shane) Smith, and Destiny (Sean) Bardsley. Ronald’s two sisters Marie and Diane and brother Hal were his close friends.
There will be no formal funeral, but friends may visit with family on Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hooper 2nd Ward, 5000 South 5900 West, Hooper. Followed by a graveside service at Hooper Cemetery.
