Ronald Scott Patterson

Ronald Scott Patterson, 71, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2014, at Ogden Regional Hospital.  He was born in Ogden on January 17, 1943, to G. Gerald and Beatrice Theobold Patterson.  He was reared and educated in Ogden City Schools, graduating from Ben Lomond High in 1961.  He attended Weber State University, graduating in 1976 with a degree in Psychology.  He worked as an insurance salesman, a milk deliveryman for Cream O’Weber, and at the post office.  After graduating from WSU, he worked as a teacher and counselor at Clearfield and Weber Basin Job Corps, and later worked for IRS as a tax examiner.  He retired there as an EEO Specialist.

Ron loved to travel, fish, and spend time with family.  He was a devoted member of the Ogden Japanese Christian Church.

Ron is survived by his wife, Elaine, whom he married in 1976; and by sons, Timothy, Marriott-Slaterville; and Daniel (Dixie), Tooele, from an earlier marriage to Kathy Shipley.  Additional survivors include sister, Gayle Bell, North Ogden; grandchildren, Connor and Claire; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Ogden Japanese Christian Church, 580 23 rd St.  Services will be officiated by Reverend Robert Nakaoka.  Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.

Ron’s family would like to thank his doctors and the ICU Staff for their excellent care.  The family would also like to express their deepest gratitude to Deanna Wolfe for her compassion and many kindnesses.   Dearest husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, may you rest in peace.
