Ronald Dale Perkes
Ronald Dale Perkes, 72, father, papa, great grandpa, brother and friend passed away from complications after surgery at 6:45 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah.
He was born April 6, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wallace and Frances Sterling Perkes. He married Karen Bryson in the Salt Lake Temple on May 16, 1969. They were married for 26 years and have five children together.
Ron attended and graduated from Highland High School in 1964. After high school he served in the US Coast Guard for two and a half years. He worked for US West Phone Company for over 33 years and made many lasting friendships there. He went on to work for T-Mobile and created his own business as a subcontractor in the cell phone industry.
He worked as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple for many years and enjoyed that very much. He had a love and a passion for family history work and genealogy and devoted countless hours doing it after he retired. He enjoyed photography, working with computers and refurbishing old tractors. He loved taking long drives, especially to Idaho to buy lottery tickets. Ron loved to take people literally to be funny and sarcastic, he was the king of sarcasm!
His pride and joy was his family, his face would light up whenever he talked about them. He was fiercely loyal to family and friends and was an amazing provider for his family.
He is survived by his sister Beverly Nowak, brother Sterling Perkes (Lynnette); children Camron Perkes, Ryan Perkes (Kim), Nathan Wade Perkes (Nicole), and Annie Ivers (Wade); grandchildren Christian, Jess, Nick, Leland, Ethan, Ellie, Logan and Aleeya; and great grandson Jaxon.
