Ronald Kenneth Berrett, known affectionately as Ron, departed from this world on January 6, 2024, at the age of 75, in Ogden, UT. Born on December 28, 1948, to Thelma and Kenny Berrett in Ogden, UT, Ron's life was a tapestry woven with love, family, and service.
Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy; his daughter, Ashley (Travis); and his cherished siblings, Sherry (Dennis), Connie, Deborah, Frank (Michelle), and Randy (Lisa). A host of friends also mourn his passing. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Josh.
During a significant portion of his career, Ron worked at Hill Air Force Base as a materials expediter. His dedication to service extended beyond the workplace, as he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Ron's valor earned him a Purple Heart, among other service medals, a testament to his bravery and commitment to his country.
Beyond his professional and military pursuits, Ron found joy in golfing, camping, fishing, and precious moments with his family. A loyal supporter of the San Francisco 49ers, he relished watching their games.
Ron will be fondly remembered for his kindness, generosity, gentleness, and a quick-witted sense of humor. As a husband and father, he exemplified kindness and care, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touched. He is and will be greatly missed.
In accordance with Ron's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Instead, the family will hold a celebration of life at a later date, with friends and family being duly notified.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Best Friends Animal Society at bestfriends.org in Ron's honor.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the support and kindness received during this difficult time.
