Ronald Carlos Stoddard, 69, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at his home following a brief but valiant battle with cancer.
He was born January 24, 1941 in Beaver, Utah to Lamar and Lauretta Thornton Stoddard.
He served in the US Air Force from 1960 to 1964, stationed at Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento CA.
On August 25, 1961, Ron married Lynnette Anderson in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
He worked as Chief of Aircraft Planning at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1993.
Ron was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, currently serving as 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric of Roy North Park Ward.
He enjoyed golfing, camping, boating and puttering around the house. He loved spending time with his family, especially fun times at the property at Aspen Springs in Wyoming.
Ron is survived by his wife, Lynnette Anderson; a son, Stuart Kyle (Ann) Stoddard, Roy; Lauri (Rick) Visser, Roy; Vikki (David) BeDell, South Weber; Sheila (Todd) Forsgren, Riverdale; ten grandchildren; two brothers, Edward (Ruth) Stoddard, Tooele; Richard Stoddard, Ogden; two sisters, Barbara Griffiths, Redding, CA; Colleen McKay, Sunset; and sister-in-law, Gloria (Farrell) Davies, Tooele.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Allen, Ralph, Steven and two sisters, Bonnie Mercer and Carol Conder.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 2nd at 11 a.m. at the Roy North Park Ward Chapel, 4250 South 2175 West.
The family will meet friends for a viewing on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, Roy, and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
