OGDEN – Ronald Laurence Wake, 71, passed away Friday, November 23, 2007 at McKay-Dee Hospital from C.O.P.D.
Ron was born in Burley, Idaho on December 30, 1935, to George Laurence and Ruth Ilene Jones Wake. He was educated in Idaho.
Ron served with the United States Army in Special Forces during the Vietnam War and retired SFC in 1979.
Ron married Elaine Willoughby in April of 1972 in Elko, Nevada. They shared 36 years together.
After his retirement, he worked for Anderson Cabinets and managed Willow Creek Estates.
Ron was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine; his children, Ronald Wake, Jr., Dana Rabe, Richard Wake, and Tony Wake; stepdaughters, Vickie (Bob) Barnes, Bonnie Ault; Beckey (Lonnie) Hulse; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are his brother, Ernie (Bettie) Wake; and sister, Ilene (Dennis) Winger.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jerry K., and grandson, Phillip Parker.
The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Curtis Healey and Lisa, and IHC Hospice, for the love and care given to Ron.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where Military Honors will be accorded.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Tuesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
