Ronald G Whitman

Ronald G Whitman was born December 11, 1942 to Josh (Jay) Lavon and Mary Della Roberts Whitman in Logan, Utah. He died July 16, 2014 after a long illness.

He graduated North Cache High School where he played basketball, football, baseball and tennis. He attended Utah State University. He served in the National Guard and coached youth basketball. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years before retiring in 2002.

Ron loved the outdoors and always went hunting, fishing and camping with his family.

He married Sharon Thompson in the Logan Temple in 1966 they have lived in Layton, UT for 48 years.

He is survived by his wife Sharon, daughter Danielle Wood (Mark), Kent, WA; son Blake (Michelle), grandson Jaden, Layton, UT; three granddogs, two sisters, Janet (Gordon), Ann Smith (Eugene), and twin brother, Robert (Shirley).

Waiting on the other side are parents, Jay and Della Whitman and brother, Raymond Whitman.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Richmond City Cemetery.
