After a long and valiant battle with multiple health issues, Ronald D. Caudle (Ron) accepted the Lord's invitation to “Come, Follow Me.” He peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at his home in Layton, Utah, due to chronic heart failure.
Ron was born in Auburn, Washington to Lloyd E. Caudle, Sr. (deceased) and Edna Lucille (Bettelyoun). Ron has four brothers, Richard (deceased), Earl (deceased), James and David. He graduated from David Douglas High School in 1972 and served a two year mission in Los Angeles, California for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He met and married his eternal sweetheart, Janelle (Jan Clark), on October 3, 1975. Ron and Jan are the blessed parents of four wonderful children, Amy Caudle, Laura Caudle Taufa (Mosese), Drew Caudle (Annie Morris), and James Caudle (Justine Morris), and are grandparents to nineteen amazing grandchildren, Ethan Church, Sister Hailey Church (California Arcadia Mission), Logan Church, Tiane Foketi, Ali'i Ieremia, Mason Caudle, Tyler Caudle, Pana Ieremia, Drew Caudle (Drewdles), Jonah Caudle, Clayton Caudle, Kolai Ieremia, Tristan Caudle, Paisley Caudle, Taimani Taufa, Cora Caudle, Elijah Caudle, Alayna Caudle and Rigby Caudle.
Ron was passionate about fishing, hunting and spending time with family. He had a deep understanding and love for the gospel with a firm belief in Jesus Christ and the Atonement. He enjoyed gospel discussions and was a “fisher of men;” Ron shared the gospel with everyone he met. He was an expert in all aspects of swimming pool construction, repairs and service. He was a master story teller, enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with his brothers.
Ron is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janelle, his mother E. Lucille Bettelyoun, his uncle Leonard Bettelyoun, his brothers James and David, his children Amy, Laura, Drew and James, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren. Ron was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
We would like to extend our deepest appreciation for the kindness and service extended to Ron by the wonderful medical professionals at Farmington Bay Dialysis Center, Dr. Douglas Barney and the Wound Care professionals, and Ron's physicians. We also want to extend our love and gratitude to Ron's good friend, Lonnie Stilson, who by donating his kidney provided Ron with many more years. Please consider becoming an organ donor!
