Ronald “Ron” Owen Wheeler

Ronald Owen Wheeler, 75, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015.  He was born on August 30, 1939 to Karl Leslie and Ruth Olga Nänny Von Dölen Wheeler in Watertown, New York.

Ron married Rose Mae Hasson on March 21, 1959 in Carthage, New York.  They moved to Rome, New York, then later to Dayton and Columbus, Ohio, before moving to North Ogden where they resided for 43 years.

He was an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church in Ogden.  He served as head usher and volunteered for the church rummage sales twice a year for many years, and also worked with the Boy Scout Troop 4.

He worked DSAC tenant organization on DDO.

Following Ron’s retirement he volunteered for many things, including the North Ogden Kawanis Club, St. Benedict’s Hospital for patient transport, Habitat for Humanity, and served as Vice President of Share, Inc., an emergency food service provider for families.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating, camping, and traveling.  His family was his greatest treasure.

Ron is survived by his wife, Rose Mae, North Ogden; son, David Ronald Wheeler, Roy; daughter-in-law, Juleen Christenson Wheeler; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Ruth; and his brother, Robert.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
