Rosa Irene Wagner Benincosa
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away April 30, 2013. She was born June 2, 1918. She was the daughter of Wilhelm and Marie Catherine Wagner, Wagner. She married William Albert Benincosa July 4, 1936. After their conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they were married for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 20, 1944.
Mom and dad had eight children: Anna Marie Bollschweiler (Gary), Mary Jo Ostler (Bernell), William Albert Jr., deceased (Patty), David Ernest (Betty), Barbara Baker (Roy), Vallard John (Melissa), Robert Duane (Vickie), Warren Lynn (Melinda). Posterity at this time also includes 38 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, William Albert Jr. (Skip), grandson Bradley Jay Bollschweiler, granddaughter Erin Benincosa, Sister Catherine Roenfeld, brother Walter Wagner, niece Betty Roenfeld Feller and son-in-law Bernell C. Ostler.
Mom was very talented. She loved oil painting, quilting, sewing, crocheting, gardening, both vegetables and flowers, cake decorating for all occasions. She was able to put her five sons on missions by decorating cakes. She also had a great love of reading her scriptures daily.
Mom worked in the school lunch program at Wasatch Elementary and Doxey Elementary schools. She served as a primary teacher and also in the Primary Presidency. She was a devoted visiting teacher and served with our father in the Ogden Temple for 15 years. She lived as she taught and set the example for us. How grateful we all are to have been blessed to have had her as our mother, grandmother and friend.
We give heartfelt thanks to "A Step Forward" hospice care, especially our nurse Erica Dixon and hospice care giver Althea Adams whose service, love and support was deeply appreciated
