Rosalie Irene Simpson Broderick, 82, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009.
Irene was born on June 9, 1926 in Salt Lake City, UT and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Irene met the love of her life in seventh grade, Ladd D. Broderick and married him in California on August 12, 1944 during his service in the Navy. Ladd preceded her in death but is now holding her in his arms once again.
Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She lived her life giving her whole heart and soul to her family and prided herself on their successes. The happiest moments of her life were the times she spent with them, and she always looked forward to family reunions and holidays.
Irene loved spending time in Bear Lake with her husband, son and grandkids. Bear Lake was her home away from home, and she enjoyed fishing and boating any chance she had. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and rarely missed a game. A few other hobbies of Irene were cooking, fashion, dancing, pinnacle, water skiing and watching the Utah Jazz. Her family loves her dearly, and they will miss her very much.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the Simpson Family for all of their love and support and for being there for Irene these past few years. She loved you all very much.
Surviving are her brother Edwin Ray "Ted" Simpson; son, Allan Ladd Broderick, Garden City, UT and daughter-in-law, RaNae Broderick, Ogden, UT; two grandchildren and their spouses, Damon and Karrie Hammond and Brady and Cara Broderick; one great-granddaughter, Calli Irene Broderick.
