Roscoe Byrd

On 18 June 2009, the Lord called Roscoe Byrd home.
Roscoe was born 19 July 1912 in the town of Hilger, Montana.
He was the son of Washington Sheridan and Cora Veatrice Lovelace Byrd, and the oldest of six siblings.
On 21 April 1936, Roscoe married Ethel Joyce Phelps.
Roscoe was raised on a ranch in Montana near the Missouri breaks. He graduated from Ingamar High School in Ingamar, Montana.
After high school, Roscoe worked as a cowboy and rancher, and later as a railroader. He retired from the railroad in 1977.
Upon retirement, he and his wife traveled, visiting family.
Roscoe is survived by two children, Roscoe (Judy) Byrd and Marjorie (Bud) Funk.
Also surviving are his brother James (Helen) Byrd; two sisters, Virginia (Jess) Crossno and Eva (John) Fair; as well as six grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; brother, Vernon (Mary) Byrd; and sister, Loreen Long.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 24 June 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family will greet friends at the mortuary Wednesday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
